Open Question: Setting up wireless connection?

I have a desktop PC upstairs and I have a modem downstairs. I can use my laptop anywhere in the house just fine and I was wondering can a Desktop PC work the same? Like with no plugs. I have a router if that helps but I can't connect it using a plug from downstairs to upstairs. But I'm guessing router's pick up wireless? Please help me if you know how I can create a connection. Can I connect using just the router? I can connect a router to my laptop and my desktop PC at the same time. But I can't connect either to the modem.... Read More »
